Emma Lea is an accomplished writer and artist, having had many appearances including a release on Hed Kandi, being on the Radio One playlist and being featured as Pete Tong's song of the week, amongst many other labels. In 2017 Emma discovered the world of Electro Swing and has never looked back since. Since then she has written and featured with the top names in the scene including Jamie Berry, Wolfgang Lohr, Odd Chap, and Bart & Baker.
This time Emma has teamed up with LA based producer Atom Smith on the track 'Big Bad Wolf'. Atom, who is one half of The Gentlemen Callers of LA, has proved himself to be a key player on the vintage remix scene having had official remixes for the likes of Disney, and platinum-selling artist Caro Emerald.
The moral behind the track 'Big Bad Wolf' is about being brave, even when you feel incredibly intimidated. There are some big and powerful players within the music industry who can be cruel, and don't always have your best interests as their primary goal. They can lure you in using your dreams as bate, and then bring you down with their words, as describes the line "he's got a dangerous smile and a dangerous bite".
In the 'Big Bad Wolf' Emma is saying she is no longer scared or intimidated of these characters she has met over the years. She knows who she is and feels finally free and confident to be exactly who she wants to be, without needing their admiration or opportunities. The casual tempo of the track gives Emma's lyrics and mesmerising voice a chance to shine through the backing track, which iteself is bursting with nostagic seductiveness provided by piano and sultry vintage brass samples.
