The new German 100 Euro Gold coin series focuses on the motto Pillars of Democracy - Unity, Justice and Freedom. The three-coin series starts off in 2020 with the coin "Unity" - just in time for the 30th anniversary of German Unity. The coin was struck from a 1/2 ounce of 99.99% pure gold in uncirculated quality. The motive was designed by the Berlin artist Bastian Prillwitz and features St. Paul's Church in Frankfurt. As the place where the constitution of the German Reich of March 28, 1849 was passed, the church is considered a classic symbol of the German people's striving for national unity and freedom. Below the St. Paul's Church the inscription "EINIGKEIT" is shown. Next to the church, two other historically significant scenes are depicted: On the left are fighting insurgents, whereas the session of the first German National Assembly is depicted on the right. This is intended to commemorate the people who stood up for Germany's democratic values. The mintage is limited to max. 35,000 pieces. The 100 Euro gold coin with the mintmark A - Berlin - is delivered in the original box including a certificate of authenticity.
