The coin set "Industry in Motion" from the Perth Mint celebrates the evolution of industry and machinery. The cogwheel, which is also known as cog or gear, represents technology, progress and history and is one of the icons of the industry. The coin set pays tribute to this revolutionary invention with two innovative gear-shaped coins. Both coins were struck from one ounce of 99.99% pure silver. The antique finish provides them with an individual look. The motives of both coins show gear wheels of different sizes. The reverses show the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, the year of issue, weight and fineness as well as the denomination of the coins. The English inventor Joseph Whitworth patented the first process for cutting spiral gears in 1835. This led to the invention of gear hobbing machines capable of cutting gears. The two uniquely shaped coins are presented in an acrylic case with a mechanism that allows to rotate the coins. This extraordinary edition is limited to only 1,500 sets worldwide. The set is delivered in an original packaging matching the theme, including a numbered certificate of authenticity from the Perth Mint.
