Ever heard of "The Conet Project?" That's what it's like in this video.
Here, I got different segments of the test of the EAS. These I've collected in 2007 and made them into WAV files. They were from the broadcasts I've recorded with my Insignia DVD recorder (to see a movie but not expecting the tests to happen). What you would see is the text - disappearing time and again - in the red background (there's a still capture of that image in the first few seconds).
Since these are audio segments, I thought I would include a visualization from the latest version of the Real Player.
Notice what would follow after that familiar noise. It doesn't always have a voice saying "This is a test of the Emergency Alert System." It sounded like something out of a radio station. Can you recognize the tunes? The last two segments have a "This is a test" announcement. The last one is muffled and you could hear this guy talking whenever this lady wasn't.
Brace yourself! This could scare the [your word here] out of you.

Ive seen this on CD and was considering getting it. Well, while I was at a flea market in the Summer of 2010, Ive found this vinyl LP of the album. I got 3 LPs for $3 and I was told that I could get 3 more for free, therefore I got 6 for $3. This record is almost like NEW!
Notice how most of the tracks have 2 tunes. In the CD version, each tune is in a separate track, which makes more sense.
