My 2015 storyboards of Ellie – a proposed Galaxy’s Edge creature that people could ride – having her first encounter with a child.
We planned for body heat, warm breath, flexible skin, moist lips and moist eyes.
Ellie would turn her head to make eye contact with one of her big eyes, while lid expression and pupil size revealed shifts in her mood.
She’d respond to touch, doing her version of a purr when being petted or hugged.
She’d remember your face and voice and behavior, recognizing you if you approached during a future visit. If she remembered you as an energy ball, or shy, or a nurturing soul, her behavior would reflect those feelings.
I designed a version of Ellie with no horn, and a version of Ellie with a damaged horn, with scars from a key battle in her past.
