Disability is just one part of a person's life. It does not define them. The media is essential in challenging the discrimination and stereotypes in our societies.
Video #3 of UNESCO Master Class on Disability Equality in the Media addresses gender equality, age appropriate, culturally relevant, and ethical representation of persons with disabilities in stories and media coverage. Special emphasis is placed on eliminating discrimination and stigma, and on sensitive reporting of violence against women and girls with disabilities.
