To do this, take a scrap piece of cardstock in the same color as the element you want to elevate. Roll it to your desired thickness to create a base, then glue it down and adhere your element on top. If the height is too much, simply trim the rolled piece to fit your design.
Use this technique to elevate cake toppers, banners, or cards and bring more depth to your focal elements. Small adjustments like this can completely transform your finished piece.
