Here is a quick video of an awesome setup that makes tramming in the G0704 CNC Milling Machine a breeze! The blocks are strongly secured to the base and pinch the column on both sides, with 4 Allen cap hex screws to control the tilt of the column, and then the column itself was tapped to allot another four screws to control the nod of the column. One thing to note is that the brackets do not touch the column, there is a very small gap between them and the column. The only thing touching the column from the brackets is the screws that lock in the tilt.
A huge thanks goes to my long ago high school shop teacher who came up with the idea and lent his shop and time to help machine the parts.
