Elegy is a piece I wrote for a former student who passed away suddenly earlier this year. Another student, after listening to the composition, said that it didn't sound tragic enough for an elegy; however when I was writing the song, I was trying to avoid a heavy, tragic feel. The circumstances were already sad enough, so I wanted to a lighter touch to reflect her cheerful, sweet nature while alive.
Though it is a personal song, I have decided to include it in the background music collection (as a way of spreading her song).

The song was composed and recorded using a Korg M50 synth (and edited using Sonar Home Studio). I took photographs of flowers and of Happy Valley Cemetery with different kinds of cameras: a Digital Harinezumi 2++ (something like a digital lomography camera) a Minolta X-700 and a Canon EOS 450D. The video was edited with Premiere Pro CS4,
