Going through common electrical issues and how to test them on this Turin Gallatin E61 espresso machine. Although this is a Gallatin, most of the parts and techniques will be on other espresso machines as well.

I would recommend some basic tools. Below is not all inclusive as machines are manufactured differently between manufacturers, but the following will be able to service a good number of machines. Here are some examples.
