Welcome to the Elden Ring Randomizer run. Items are random. Enemies are random. Everything I pick up auto-equips. It's chaos.

This is part 3, the full run playlist is here! youtube.com/playlist?list=PLFYcvs_VVuJahGt-xyvwe7tEQcoNke2eW

Some details on the settings I used. The enemy randomizer, by default, scales the health and damage of enemies to match the area they are in. I turned this off. My reasoning is that if I had enemy scaling on, then the run would feel no different than a regular run of the game but with some fun showcases along the way. There would never be the tension of running into an endgame boss in an early game area and being forced to go in a weird progression order. But towards the end of the run, when I'm in the late game areas, I turn scaling back on to avoid running into enemies that are too easy for my endgame build.

For the item randomizer, I randomized key items to important locations. Important locations include major boss drops, golden seeds, sacred tears, and merchant shops. So I don't need to comb the entire map and every dungeon to find progression items, but I do need to explore quite a bit. I also have the option to pay Kale for a mark on the map that points out a key item location for progression.

For the auto-equip mod, weapons I pick up will choose a random ash of war, a random infusion, and a random upgrade level between +0 and my current max upgrade level. But I got tired of that randomness at some point and instead edited the mod to force weapons I picked up to match my current max upgrade level. That was more fun. I also tried to use anything that auto-equipped to me, but not if it got in the way of my fun. For example, if I was fat rolling from a pickup, I took something off typically. Or if I picked up a staff, I usually switched back to a melee weapon.

Mods:

Item and Enemy Randomizer: nexusmods.com/eldenring/mods/428
Auto-Equip Mod (Param randomizer): nexusmods.com/eldenring/mods/97

Getting these mods to work together isn't easy. I followed these instructions: nexusmods.com/eldenring/articles/94, but instead of Seamless Co-op, I did it with the Item and Param Randomizer. The instructions work perfectly for getting Item and Param Randomizer to work side-by-side with Mod Engine 2, just have to be careful about what files the instructions are saying to put where.

I had to edit the Item and Param randomizer randomiserprefernces.ini file to have everything set = 0 (there are some params = 1) except auto equip. Then after installing and setting up thefifthmatt's item and enemy randomizer, all the items were randomized according to the rules I set in thefifthmatt's mod, and auto-equip was working great.
