The DLC really has some atmospheric places and phenomenal OSTs to go with them.
In the halls of a roasted library caked with dust and spiderwebs, Midra brings it all together to envision what would happen if a Lord of the Frenzy Flame were to escape to wander the Lands Between.
Unlike most of the DLC bosses, Midra has quite a number of slower moves mixed with decent-sized AoEs, allowing for counter-attacks between the gaps. As a good chunk of his moves aim high, well-timed attacks that bend one's character, such as 1:41 as at 2:17, can add up to many free hits over time.
(The 'dodge' at 1:41 was something that I didn't even believe. I had to watch it in slow-motion to realize I was a fraction of a second from re-entering standing position and being inside the knife's hitbox. FromSoft definitely has some coding magic.)

Now that Ive completed my initial playthrough of the DLC, its time to get back into this.
Because the DLCs challenge level is significantly higher, I wont be able to consistently upload several videos at once.
As for the Golden Hippo, its a good baseline for what to expect, though it (as well as quite a few bosses) can perish pretty quickly to decent builds paired with a high Scadutree blessing without even learning any of its tricks. The second phase is especially dangerous for not getting hit, as the needles can land in unexpected places if ones positioning is bad. Usually, staying behind to its side can make the spinning attack significantly less dangerous, but I still double roll in case a few come in my direction unexpectedly. It also likes to auto-counter if you make any lengthy attacks from its backside, which is abusable once you know the timing of its sideswipe.

It takes a dragon to fight a dragon... or something.
Anywho, Bayle definitely has the OST matching its threat level because I think hes the second hardest boss in the DLC. The time to fight was fitting since I am halfway through the DLCs remembrance fights.
Sadly, this didnt go as smoothly as my other videos, mainly because I was testing some baits/punishes but failing to do them quickly enough to hit (or being pushed away by Bayle).
