“Every year Younger” protocol. The challenging balance between biohacking and evidence-based science (Reginald Deschepper)
Reginald Deschepper is a medical anthropologist attached to the Mental Health & Wellbeing research group at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (now as prof. em.). He is also co-founder of the non-profit organisation LifeMe (Lifestyle as Medicine), an organisation of researchers, doctors and patients who want to raise awareness of the possibilities of 'lifestyle as medicine'. He is (co)author of over 70 scientific publications in international journals.
In 2019, he published the book 'Your lifestyle as medicine' [in Dutch] which addresses seven pillars of a healthy lifestyle: exercise, nutrition, coping with stress, social support, sleep, environment and purpose.
September 2022 saw the publication of 'Every year younger: the science of rejuvenation or how to outsmart time'. The book describes the mechanisms of the biological ageing process and how rapid progress is being made to 'reverse' ageing as a strategy to tackle all ageing diseases simultaneously.
He also organises healthy retreats where people spend several days together and learn how to apply healthy life.
