What’s the difference between egg and embryo freezing – and which option is best for you? Plus, what to look for in an IVF clinic. Dr. Lucky Sekhon, a double-board certified REI (Reproductive Endocrinologist & Infertility Specialist), breaks down the basics.

There are two main ways that women can preserve their fertility: either through egg or embryo freezing. Women are born with all of the eggs they’ll ever have, and over time, the quality and quantity of the eggs change. Preserving those eggs through egg freezing via vitrification means they’re no longer subject to the degradation that occurs over time. It’s setting yourself up for future success.

Whether you’re going through the process of egg or embryo freezing, there are some clear similarities and distinctions between the two. Learn more by subscribing to RMA of New York’s YouTube channel, following us on Instagram @rmaofny, or visiting www.rmany.com.
