Rev. Christian Kumpost, AKA: Leaving La ManchaYeah...this is more a video on the concept of suffering, specifically shared suffering. I sit down to discuss what I learned from both completing the Mantiou Incline, and reflecting on the whole journey. On shared pain rather than isolated pain. On mental health, and connecting with others. Does training in Goku’s weighted clothes work for fitness, strength, and endurance? I’m an average, typical guy when it comes to fitness and strength. Here's what I have to say and what I learned. My last video was footage of the hike up and back down the Manitou Incline wearing a 30lb vest. 00:00 INTRODUCTION – How Mr. Rogers represents Anarchy, what I strive to be, and why I'm asking these questions.
04:21 PART 1: NO GODS. NO MASTERS – an introduction to Anarchy as a political concept and why it's not what you think.
20:12 PART 2: “IF EVERYONE IS SPECIAL, THEN NO ONE IS.” – in which I cover Anarchy as a philosophy and ethical theory, while addressing what criticisms I've seen and experienced against it.
30:51 PART 3: THE BREAKING OF BREAD – how Christianity and Anarchy actually have a lot in common; furthermore, how the concept of the the eschatos Kingdom of Heaven—while seemingly antithetical to Anarchy—is in fact the perfect framework for anarchistic living, all while being the reason for a lack of justification in any earthly institution of government or state, thus the Kingdom of Heaven supports Anarchy.
38:46 - Leo Tolstoy and how early Church history reveals the fall of Christianity through its engagement with governments, politics, and hierarchies (specifically Rome). And how Christians actually ought to reject government, politics, and any form of hierarchies.
48:06 PART 4: THE KING IS DEAD, LONG LIVE ANARCHY – The Biblical Support for Anarchy, and for Christians to be Anarchists.
48:17 - How the Old Testament Supports Anarchy and Reveals God as an Enemy of Worldly Governmental power and institutions.
58:11 - How Jesus was radically against hierarchies and showed no regard for institutions, and how what he taught and how he lived proved this.
01:07:53 - The Epistles' support of Anarchy and those tricky passages that seem to say you must obey authority, and what they really mean.
01:22:46 - How the Cross and Crucifixion is Anarchy itself.
01:24:13 - Closing thoughts; on the misinterpretation of God, communion, love, and bread.

For further reading and content, visit my website here: leavinglamancha.comThe Impossible Dream (Acoustic Cover)Rev. Christian Kumpost, AKA: Leaving La Mancha2024-11-11 | #music for #musicmonday today was inspired by someone encouragingly reaching out recently, serving to remind me of everything I keep striving for. This is a really personal song for me (I have the whole last verse tattooed on my chest, and you can see all the decor in the room behind me...), I couldn't get through covering this song. It took all day to record this video. My voice was shot by this last take. I kept breaking down crying. I guess I'm giving you this recording rather than keep trying til I can make it through and sound the way I want it to, because maybe that's the point of the impossible dream. "And I think Don Quixote would likely agree. Even in the dumbest misguided impulses, even in desperation, maybe it’s worth tilting at the windmill again. Sharing your heart again. Trying to understand again. Trying to do better again. Trying to find God again. Trying to find or give love again. Empires and countries rise and fall throughout history, and then some people read the history books and try to do it again but better. And do a bad job. And then a small group says “maybe we can try to fix it? I dunno, try it like this.” And do a bad job again. I think the most beautiful, human thing any of us can do is just keep giving human life a try, and be willing to be surprised on the days when it actually goes really well." Keep tilting at windmills. Don't give up. ---}and the world will be better for this... and for YOU in it.

Christian Kumpost, AKA: Leaving La Mancha2024-10-31 | Does training in Goku’s weighted clothes work for fitness, strength, and endurance? I’m an average, typical guy when it comes to fitness and strength. As a personal fitness goal, I attempted to complete this hike--both ascending and descending--wearing a 30lb vest.
For those unfamiliar, the Manitou Incline is a hiking trail just west of Colorado Springs, located in the foothills of Manitou Springs. Rather than a winding hiking trail, it is basically a staircase trail that goes strait up. Number of steps: The incline has 2,768 steps. Length: The Incline is about 0.9 miles long from base to summit.Elevation gain: The Incline gains 2,020 feet in elevation.Base elevation: The base elevation is 6,530 feet.Summit elevation: The summit elevation is 8,550 feet.Average grade: The average grade is 45%.Steepest grade: The steepest grade is 68%. They say to plan on 2-3 hours just to go from the base to the summit.
Find out if I was successful in my goal by watching the video. Stay tuned for a followup video where I debrief and talk about what I learned in my attempt. Does training in Goku’s weighted clothes work for fitness, strength, and endurance? (spoilers, it has to do with my philosophy and what seems to be a theme of suffering and human connection in shared suffering) NOW AVAILABLE! Click here: youtu.be/EFXBiJeAOzQ?si=1MiiKp2COYpKfHWZ

To celebrate 25 years of Spongebob Squarepants (and rope us in by playing the nostalgia card), Wendy’s dropped a "Krabby Patty Kollab Meal." I'll be trying out their Krabby Patty Kollab Burger (their take on a Krabby Patty) and the Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty. All this makes me think of a story combining my history with Spongebob, and REALLY awkward dates I've had. Was my disappointment immeasurable, and my DATE ruined? Find out!
