The Danish National Girls’ Choirs "In The Dark” concerts have become a strong tradition at the DR Concert Hall over the past 15 years. With these concerts, the choir marks the transition into autumn through an experience where darkness and calm are allowed to settle, so that everyone on stage and in the audience can fully surrender to the darkness and the power of music.
Specifically, the lights in the concert hall are turned off, and the choir performs an entire concert without a conductor, in complete darkness.
In the autumn of 2025, the "In The Dark" concert featured iconic melodies and lyrics from the 1980s—and in addition to The Danish National Girls’ Choir, one of Denmark’s leading young jazz artists, harmonica player Mathias Heise, also took part.
