Mi’raj is Edu Falaschi's sixth solo studio album, released independently on June 12, 2026. It concludes the conceptual trilogy begun with Vera Cruz (2021) and continued in Eldorado (2023). The album concludes the fictional saga developed by Edu in partnership with writer Fábio Caldeira. The story takes place in the 16th-century Middle East and explores profound themes such as spiritual transcendence, identity, faith, loss, overcoming, intuition, victories, and inner ascension. The title Mi’raj (or Mi'raj) refers to spiritual/mystical ascension, aligning with the climax of the protagonist's (Jorge's) journey, guided by a seer through the desert and the Portal of the Twelve Veils.
The work incorporates Eastern cultural and musical influences (modal scales, timbres, and atmospheric Arabic textures), without losing the essence of Edu's characteristic melodic power metal/prog metal. There are orchestral elements, pianos with Arabic harmonies, and subtle ethnic details in tracks that aren't entirely "oriental," creating a rich and immersive atmosphere.
The cover art was created by Carlos Fides, featuring a seer as the central figure, symbolizing the narrative's spiritual guide. The production maintains a successful partnership: mixing and mastering by Dennis Ward (Helloween, Unisonic, Angra, etc.), recording at Fusão Studio (SP) by Thiago Bianchi. Special guest appearances enrich the album: Veronica Bordacchini (Fleshgod Apocalypse) – dramatic operatic vocals on the title track; Roy Khan (ex-Kamelot/Conception) – on “Circle of Dust”; Rafael Bittencourt (Angra) – guitar on “Intuição” marking a reunion since Aqua (2010). Others include: saxophone by Wagner Barbosa and orchestrations by Pablo Greg.
The sound continues the evolution of Edu's solo phase: melodic power metal with progressive touches, catchy choruses, expressive solos, organic and powerful drums, and prominent bass. Eastern influences add unique atmospheric layers, evoking Kamelot in structures and harmonies, but with Falaschi's signature Brazilian and emotional sound.
