Railcut is an extension for After Effects. It's a non-linear editing timeline that lets you cut, trim, ripple, arrange, and quickly revise video edits without leaving After Effects.
In this video, I’ll walk through the basic Railcut workflow from start to finish: bringing footage into the timeline, using tracks, trimming clips, making edits, working with audio and waveforms, using keyboard shortcuts, and taking advantage of advanced editing tools like linked audio/video editing, J & L-cuts, and clip groups.
If you’ve ever tried to edit a full sequence directly in After Effects, you know how quickly the layer stack can get messy. Railcut gives you a more familiar editor-style timeline while keeping everything inside After Effects, so your edit and motion design work can live in the same project.
