This puzzle completes the set of all the general types of twisty puzzles that can be made from the platonic solids (face-turning, vertex-turning, and edge-turning). All of them have now been made, many of them mass-produced.
CORRECTION: I was mistaken about this puzzle creating the milestone, as the 24-octahedron already fills the edge-turning octahedron slot. Oh well. It's a great puzzle in any case!
