Using an aluminum coin and a neodymium magnet, you can create a thought provoking science phenomenon. Aluminum is not attracted to magnets, however, it is affected by eddy currents. Eddy currents can be induced by moving a strong magnet and it can create a temporary magnetic field in the aluminum coin. Watch as the coin cannot be dropped directly onto the magnet. Fascinating!
