I love transformer coupled tube amps. They absolutely make headphones sing. The problem: they’re expensive. I had the opportunity to trade for an Eddie Current ZDT Jr awhile back, and I’m glad I took that chance. It’s probably one of the cheapest transformer-coupled tube amps that was once available. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like it’s in production any more. That’s a shame, because for around $500, I think it’s a great amp and a great entry into the transformer-coupled tube world.
