We started our second day of Espressif DevCon22 with none other than Espressif’s Vice President of Software Platforms, Ivan Grokhotkov, who delivered the second keynote speech of this conference. Ivan is the go-to person for all sorts of advice at Espressif, but he has also gained a reputation for providing great support to the entire community of developers out there. Ivan talked us through all that’s new in ESP-IDF version 5. His talk introduced new features and important breaking changes in the latest version of ESP-IDF. He also revisited the release and maintenance policy of IDF, in general, and he also discussed Espressif’s strategy for upgrading to new IDF releases.
