Today I do a quick comparison of some popular pocket type EDC ferro rods. I am comparing the Light My Fire mini (amazon.com/Light-Fire-Swedish-Firesteel-Ultralight/dp/B000UYWDVK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1396630723&sr=8-1&keywords=light+my+fire+mini)
the Firesteel.com 5/16" rod firesteel.com/firesteel-survival-4-0-with-lanyard-hole
and the Exotac Nanostriker XL exotac.com/nanostriker-xl
For tinder I didn't want to use the usual cotton balls so I shaved down some dry cedar with my Gerber LMF2. Check out the results.
