Our First Ascent guide team built this ultralight jacket for alpine climbing in cool to cold weather. Windproof shell is recycled ripstop polyester with a StormRepel® durable water-repellent (DWR) finish. Super high-loft 800 fill StormDown™ powered by DownTek™ sets a new standard for moisture-resistant down. Each cluster is treated with a DWR finish so the down retains its loft and superior insulating properties even in wet conditions. We performed extensive tests to determine the best DWR down available, and the DownTek™ technology is clearly superior.
