„Perfect ist eines der schönsten Liebeslieder und inzwischen schon fast so etwas wie ein „Pop-Klassiker“.
Ed Sheeran widmete diese wunderschöne, emotionale Ballade seiner damaligen Verloben und jetzigen Ehefrau Cherry Seaborn. Er erzählt darin die Geschichte einer Freundschaft, die ihren Anfang bereits in Kindertagen nahm, und aus der später im Erwachsenenalter unverhofft die große Liebe wird.
Ich spiele meine Cover-Version als „Wedding-Version“. Beim Intro habe ich mir vorgestellt, wie sich die Türen zur Kirche öffnen und die Braut den Raum zu den Klängen der Akkordfolge des Canons von Pachelbel den Raum betritt. Auch das Outro endet wieder mit dieser wunderschönen und sehr anrührenden Akkordfolge, wenn das Brautpaar frisch vermählt die Kirche wieder verlässt.
