My last release this year.

I started this song on December 31, 2024. I wanted to do something freer and more adventurous again, focusing more on melody and mood than on danceability. Since I was feeling particularly extravagant at the time, I wanted to try a 5/4 time signature. That wasn't so easy, but I managed it pretty well for a first attempt.

The song actually came about in exactly the same way as its structure. First, the "staircase" chords at the beginning, then some beat, and then the melody, as well as the rest of the song. This time, writing the melodies and variations really felt like painting.

These highlights, which run throughout the entire song, came about almost by chance, but they're foreshadowed right at the beginning. You don't usually just slip down from A major to G# major and back up again, but that's the whole point of the song. You'll have to ask someone who understands and can explain music theory better than I do.

I don't really like trap beats, but I couldn't make it work any other way with that time signature. Techno and 5/4 time don't go together very well. Overall, I find the drums very boring, but that makes the melody stand out more. Since I unfortunately can't play drums, there's no proper solo.

The main parts are heavily modified recorders and Nivkii sounds, and the voice in the second part is my own. I don't usually like the sound of organs, but it worked here because I needed a certain shimmer.

The cover artwork of the song was originally supposed to be related to triumph, but that wouldn't have worked, of course; it had to be more dreamy. Also, the colors are clearly pink and yellow. It took me a while to find the right motif.

Three songs in one year is a new record. I'm not satisfied with that, but that's how it goes. The number of things i have to do is increasing, but my time isn't. Besides, I've gotten a bit out of the rhythm. There will be more music, as I haven't finished all the songs yet, but I unfortunately can't guarantee anything.
