The day after President Iohannis resigned, we began decommissioning EcoRocket, Romania's first fully privately funded orbital launch vehicle, which was scheduled to launch in 2021 and then again in 2022. EcoRocket has waited too long to launch from Romania and has aged.
The launch of EcoRocket could have given Romania the status of a space nation.
People will always see EcoRocket, perhaps unfairly, as a failure of ArcaSpace.
But we know what we sacrificed, how much we worked, how much we tested, how much we spent from exclusively private sources, how much we dedicated ourselves and what we wanted to achieve.
We also know who is responsible, who is directly involved in preventing the launch.
President Iohannis has now left, leaving these pictures behind. ArcaSpace has been here for 25 years, and EcoRocket will eventually reach the cosmos. Not from Romania, because it couldn't from here, but it will.
