The 100W fiber laser etches a data matrix code, text and a logo onto die-cast aluminum in just 6.7 seconds. After the part is e-coated, the identifiers are still easily readable by a human as well as by a barcode reader. The coating on the part is between 0.8 and 1 thousandth of an inch.
