A song from a CD I found in a thrift store in Texas.
ETA: Someone sent me some info on this, along with an English translation of the lyrics, which are below. The band is Echelon and the song title is "Seventeen Years."
At seventeen, still a boy,
He joined the pilot's service.
With a fast plane with a star on its wings,
He found solace...
"They loved each other deeply,
When they were still children,
And often, often, they whispered,
That we would never forget each other!"
"At an altitude of five thousand meters,
The propeller hummed merrily.
The pilot, covered in blood, his chest bruised,
Whispered slowly with his lips:
"So that means it's the end! That means it's the end!
Love's final hour has come!
I loved you as a boy,
And I love you even more now!"
