Our Permanent Water Quality team isnt afraid to get their hands dirty to protect our state waterways and roadside ecosystems. Our team of mother-nature-loving maintainers work hand in hand with CDOT’s Environmental team to:
• Keep urban water quality control measures (infrastructure that captures garbage, salt and sediment) clean
• Find, identify and remove invasive weeds near state highways
• Pick up garbage along state roadways (Tarp your load, truckers!)
• Clear and repair rural drainage systems like culverts
• Manage technology and policy to minimize the use of snow and ice control products while balancing the need for public safety
… all to safeguard the environment and create a healthier, more beautiful Colorado.
