Using a big syringe I've found is the fastest way to suck out the old power steering fluid from the reservoir. Then top off with new fluid. I do this every six months to keep the power steering mechanism in good working order. You can also do this with brake fluid too. In many cars, automatic transmisison fluid can and should be used for power steering fluid. In my case, my car is mercury grand marquis, it uses Mercon V ATF fluid, I pour that into the power steering fluid reservoir.
