In today’s colouring tutorial, I’m showing you how to create an easy watercolour background using Sakura Koi Colouring Brush Pens.
This is the next video in my Background Series, where we explore different background ideas to add to our colouring pages. For this one, I’m working in Summer Nights by Hanna Karlzon and using the Sakura Koi Brush Pens.
I’ll show you how I dilute and blend the colours to create a soft gradient, how I avoid harsh edges, and how I add a slightly dappled effect rather than a completely smooth wash. I’ll also finish the background with some gold and white details for a little extra interest.
The Sakura Koi Brush Pens are water-based, so there are lots of ways we can use them in our colouring books.
