Build a Wi-Fi Weather Dashboard with the Arduino UNO R4 and Visual Micro, with a Portable Solution so you're running in minutes...
Turn your Arduino UNO R4 WiFi into a live weather display - and see professional debugging in action with Visual Micro for Visual Studio.
In this episode, we create a scrolling weather dashboard that fetches real-time data from WeatherAPI.com and displays it on the UNO R4’s built-in LED matrix.
No sensors. No shields. Just Wi-Fi, JSON, and Visual Studio debugging.
You’ll learn how to:
✅ Connect your UNO R4 WiFi to the internet
✅ Parse JSON responses using ArduinoJson
✅ Display dynamic text using ArduinoGraphics
✅ Set breakpoints, tracepoints, and watch variables in Visual Micro
✅ Use Visual Studio to step through your Arduino code - live
Whether you’re a teacher demonstrating IoT concepts, or a maker building your first connected project, this is the perfect place to start.
🧰 What You Need:
✅ Arduino UNO R4 WiFi
✅ Visual Studio + Visual Micro Extension
✅ Free API key from WeatherAPI.com
✅ All Libraries and the Board Package are included in the Portable Solution!
🧠 Topics Covered:
IoT & API basics
JSON parsing in Arduino
Live debugging in Visual Studio
Scrolling text on the LED matrix
Classroom + maker project ideas

![De-Bounce Push Buttons Easily in Arduino Projects
Learn a few different ways of de-bouncing your Arduino push buttons, and see the difference it makes visually with Visual Micro. More info and links below....
It is confusing at first to find a simple on off press can bounce (change state rapidly) when pressing and releasing, and it can be just as difficult to read these buttons reliably.
Here we show the bounce on a standard button, and the ways of solving this using simple delays, 3rd Party Arduino Libraries, as well as hardware, so you can be sure your button presses are one clean press and not 10....
