Here are six common reasons why your clothes dryer might be warming up but not getting hot enough:
Low Setting: You have the temperature set to low or none
Clogged Vent: A blocked vent can restrict airflow, preventing the dryer from heating properly. Make sure to clean the vent regularly to avoid this issue
Lint Screen Blockage: If the lint screen is clogged, it can reduce airflow and cause the dryer to overheat without getting hot enough to dry clothes. Clean the lint screen after every use
Faulty Heating Element: The heating element might be broken or malfunctioning, which can prevent the dryer from reaching the desired temperature. This part may need to be replaced
Thermal Fuse Issue: A blown thermal fuse can stop the dryer from heating. This safety device can blow if the dryer overheats, and it will need to be replaced to restore proper function
Defective Thermostat: The thermostat regulates the temperature inside the dryer. If it’s not working correctly, the dryer might not get hot enough. Testing and replacing the thermostat can resolve this issue12.
