Now that the weather is getting cooler here in Ontario, I have been craving rich, comforting and hearty meals. One meal that I tend to crave in the autumn and winter months is cabbage rolls. I use lean beef and combine it with rice, fresh vegetables and seasonings. I then wrap the meat and vegetable mixture in cabbage leaves, top with tomato sauce and sauerkraut, then bake until tender. I usually serve with sour cream and a side of boiled or baked potatoes for a complete meal.

Ingredients:
2 lbs ground beef
2 cups cooked white rice
1 head cabbage
2 eggs
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp season salt
1 tsp paprika
1 onion
½ red bell pepper
chopped parsley and scallions
4 cloves garlic
1 tbsp sour cream
1 cup Sauerkraut
1 jar Tomato sauce
