In this video, I head out to the Eastgate Card Show at Eastgate Mall in Cincinnati, Ohio, hoping to dig up some vintage baseball cards for the collection. But honestly… it wasn’t easy.
The show has really shifted lately, with a ton of Pokémon cards and modern sports cards taking over the floor. Vintage was tough to find, and it made for a bit of a grind searching through tables.
That said, I didn’t leave empty-handed.
I show off a couple of pickups from the show, including a really cool 2001 Topps Archives autograph of Hall of Famer Gaylord Perry—on a reprint of his 1962 rookie card. Those archive autos are some of my favorites to collect, and this one is a beauty.
And the big pickup? A 1988 San Bernardino Spirit Ken Griffey Jr. minor league card. One of the most iconic players of all time, and a card that brings back a ton of memories from when I was a kid watching him play. Absolutely thrilled to add that one to the collection.
I also finally show a card I picked up at the last Eastgate show that never made it into a video—a 2013 Topps Tribute Ken Griffey Sr. autograph.
Even when the hunt gets tough, that’s part of what makes this hobby so fun.
