After my adventure visiting observatories in Chile, I spend a quick 48 hours on Easter Island. It's very remote - the closest land is Pitcairn island and the ONLY flight once or twice a day is to Santiago. Very interesting visit. Tried to get some star photos but the Moon was too bright and there were too many clouds. Maybe another time! Enjoy the Moai.

How to animate astronomy images with Keynote

$I caught a solar flare! #astronomy #sun #solarimaging Timelapse of activity around Sunspot AR4267 on Nov 1 2025 from 15:34 to 17:10 GMT. About halfway through several flares erupt near the sunspot. I used my TEC160FL refractor with ERF, dual hydrogen alpha etalons and an Apollo M camera. Guiding was with Heliomaker software and an AM5 mount with Sharpcap.
