The East Indio Hills Badlands Trail is a great hike in Southern California in the town of Indio. The hike takes you through sand and past a golf course over to a unique geological area that has crazy rock formations, slot canyons, and amazing views. I got a chance to hike it in January 2021 and here is all the information on this fun area. Also, don't hike here in the summer!
