Project Phoenix Media | Easily Transfer Dreamcast Save Files to VMU - Dream Explorer Tutorial (2019) @ProjectPhoenixMedia | Uploaded August 2019 | Updated October 2024, 1 week ago.
Today's tutorial I go over how to use a self-bootable disc called Dream Explorer. With this burnt disc image, it allows us to boot into the homebrew so we can navigate the file structure of the VMU. More importantly, the disc image contains tons of complete 100% save game files, so you can easily import and transfer complete save game files for your favorite games to the VMU, with no additional PC setup required.
This is a quicker and faster way for transferring Dreamcast save files to the VMU when compared against the Dreamshell and SD card method.
Consoles made before November 2000 should be moddable. Easy way to find out is look for the circle on bottom of the Dreamcast. If it is no number, 0, or 1, you are good to go!
