This is a video of the shareware version of Earth Invasion (v1.0), a DOS space shooter game from 1993, by Oracle Software Enr. Recorded with DOSBox 0.74.
Earth Invasion has a rather humorous although nonsensical storyline. Xyfud Plasfoc is the Emperor of the Yanchooz, a race of aliens that have defeated everything but the humans. Plasfoc sends the "worst" Yanchooz fighter pilot on a suicidal mission to attack and weaken the humans. However, Plasfoc also *wants* the fighter pilot to be killed, so he warns the humans that the Yanchooz pilot is coming, so that the humans will have a better chance of killing the aforementioned fighter pilot, and will therefore save Plasfoc the effort of having to kill the pilot himself. Or something like that.
The game features color graphics and PC speaker sound effects. The shareware version contains the first 5 missions. The registered version has more features, new bosses, and a total of 10 missions (50 levels).
I did like this game as a kid, and I am actually still interested in playing the full game. Sadly, I cannot find the registered version anywhere. Perhaps I need to search harder.
