I tried to play the old Toby Fox Halloween Hack! This was the award winning game he made before Undertale and Deltarune.
It's not the best, but still impressive. So here's a guide based on my initial attempts to play it, in case you'd like to start playing it yourself!

I forgot to mention:
Save state before going down to the sewers, and try going left to get the trash can lid. it gives a ton of defense!
Don't fight anything yet, and use the edge glitch to de-spawn enemies. You're not ready to fight anything down there at the beginning, but risking it will greatly help with leveling up.
