Pocket Watch, c. 1820, Etienne Mugnier. Brass movement wound by means of an internal weight that moves up and down as one walks. Based on a method Perrelet invented in 1777. Both the weight and the top plate are engraved, "Etienne Mugnier, N. 582." White enamel dial with cutout in center to show movement. Back dust cover is engraved, "N. 582, Etienne Mugnier, Rue Nve. Des Petits Champa, A Paris." Possibly recased in silver case with open-faced front and glass crystal. Engine turned back cover is engraved with two hallmarks on interior. Mugnier was employed by and studied under Abraham Louis Breguet.
