UC Berkeley forest ecologist Wendy Baxter describes the synthesis of athleticism and science involved in her studies of the impacts of climate change on California's giant sequoias, the world's largest trees. Baxter and her colleagues conduct their research at the tops of these forest monarchs, some of which stretch nearly 300 feet above the forest floor. How they get there is no mean feat.
