The next Battlefield will be a "Reimagination" of the series, according to EA and their latest investor earnings call. This news also arrived right after we learned from Dice that players "didn't understand specialists," which is why the community didn't like them... Unfortunately I feel that Dice and EA may be making the same mistakes that led to Battlefield 2042 all over again. Players understood specialists, they just didn't enjoy how core Battlefield design principles were sacrificed to put them into the game. Additionally, Battlefield doesn't need a reimagining, it needs a vision that looks to the successes of the past. Give players something like Battlefield 4 again, along with the core design principles that the Battlefield community has come to love over the years and you will find success. Instead, I think EA just doesn't understand Battlefield anymore, and as such the next game could be another misstep. Time will tell. What do you think? Thanks for watching!
