This run was part of my "One Day Challenge", where I limit myself to a single livestream to study, route, practice, and run a single map. Specters and Lost Souls make this run so infuriating, especially since in this version of DSDA-Doom Specters are nearly impossible to see; way worse than in the OG Doom executable. The map and run itself are extremely frustrating to run at this level. The start of the map is a pure RNG grind to survive with all the Lost Souls that you need to ignore for time. Specters and Lost Souls are a major source of facerockets throughout the entire run. The first Baron closet is so tight that 50% of the time you get blocked by the Baron and the run is over. Auto-aim can be a pain in the ass when shooting rockets. The BFG shots on the corridors towards the red key can fail due to random monster movement, making you waste a sinful amount of time. And when you finally reach the exit and kill the Cyber, there's another big chance that a monster was left alive somewhere and you have to restart. Pain.
Tatsurd's sub 2:50 run is impressively solid, I don't have what it takes to beat it at this time. I basically ran his route with only a few changes: after dropping down in the lava for the first time plasma everything dead on the left side (2 Specters, 1 Caco, 1 Imp). This will prevent Specters from being alive when you kill the Cyberdemon and ruin the whole run, and will also prevent the Caco from floating in front of you when you make the first jump to the middle teleporter. There's an easy and fast SR40 setup for the red key wall-bump if you get in the corner between the opposite wall and the yellow barriers; I felt it was quite consistent.
