Glam Metal Backing Track: Em 80s Heavy Metal / Hair Metal / Glam Rock up-tempo jam track for guitar (E minor)
The chord rotation is
E5, Dmaj, Cmaj, Dmaj
So I was thinking the other day, there's definitely an abundance of '80s' metal on this backing track site, which isn't always a bad thing since most of it could easily pass as contemporary - but I thought, perhaps we're missing one of the biggest staples of the 80s.. hair metal. Glam entered the 1980s from the 1970 and before the 80s were done it had transformed itself into, I guess what we refer to as the 'hair' metal genre because of all the big hair and hair spray associated with this music type.
Time to make us a glam / hair metal backing track. I've used a popular Em chord rotation. (Actually, it's the reverse of my heartland rock track, here youtu.be/mRFqHECrhn0), with some catchy sus4 augmentations which were popular with this genre of music. The good thing about this style of backing track is not only is it so uplifting, the tempo is pleasing and a lot of ideas and phrasings with work great. You can break out the Mick Mars, CC Deville, Warren DeMartini et al. licks for this. Hair spray not included.
Have fun!
