This video is a brief overview, from a layman's point of view of an experiment to show how bacteria can evolve. In 1988 Prof. Richard Lenski, Michigan State Univ., began an experiment using E. coli bacteria, his experiment continues today after over 20 years.

I was turned on to this experiment thanks to Richard Dawkins latest book, The Greatest Show on Earth, The Evidence For Evolution.
