BIIIIG BODDY
1st EVER Im the One by Van Halen Expert+ Full Band FC (GH:VH)
updated
Hardest part is the broken bit at 2:11, followed by the kick fill at 4:10. Technically there's a much harder fill at 6:54, but it's automatically covered by an activation so I didn't have to play it =)
FBFC soon???
Method: Used a firmware on Roll Limitless that made my drumkit appear in-game as a guitar controller. In the RB3DX settings, I switched the controller type back to drums. The game at this point is thinking I'm playing the drums chart using a guitar controller, when in reality I'm using my drumkit (just with extra steps).
This does two things:
-makes the impossible double snare note FCable
-makes it so every kick+pad hit needs to be hit as individual notes
The full song is FCable this way. However, every (RO)RR fill needs to be played as an accurate RORR fill, with the first pad hit and kick note separate. There are 19 of these fills in the song, with 16 of them in the final minute alone. I'm essentially trading an impossible note for 19 broken notes...
I worked for this a bit on-stream today and choked the final broken note, lol. So hopefully the full song is coming soon, and then I can forget about this song for good.
Special thanks to bookreader for sending me a bunch of test firmwares to make this possible :)
This is a ReFC. I got my first FC of this off-camera in 2018. One of my biggest regrets over the years was never getting this one done on video. And the more time that passed, the more I accepted it was just gonna stay that way. I didn't have it in me to attempt to re-learn this chokefest of a chart...
I guess I proved myself wrong. After tweaking my calibration and failing to hit the polyrhythm at 1:55 in practice once, I tested my luck in quickplay. On my third run, I finally hit that polyrhythm for the first time in over five years lol. Needless to say, I was incredibly nervous FCing past it, but I somehow managed to keep it together and nail the remaining swells and fills with absolutely ZERO chokes. I'm still pretty stunned I pulled this off. Thank god.
FBFC: youtu.be/L2hhzY6aGH0
Either way. Insane banger. I never have to play this again after doing it twice on RB3 and four times on RB4 lmfao
Also the audio is so bad on this run I'm sorry
I think this is first place on RB2. Every other run I've seen has the act fill at 3:01 held until the roll at 3:29, and it doesn't score as much. I don't know if everyone just mistakingly assumed that was optimal the whole time? It's not even optimal to do that in RB3 lmao. As for the grind, I got this on a random attempt warming up for Visions FBFC. Painless :)
Pro Drums FC (RB3, unlisted): youtu.be/KZ4nLq9Mqr0
Brutal Drums FC: youtu.be/p5B1y0u-pig
FBFCs: youtu.be/h9t9Ch-nxcs & youtu.be/JG7WCP_jgr8
Holy moly what an FC in RB2 though! I got this surprisingly fast. I was stupid consistent at the drum solo at 2:59. I only missed in drum solo C once. Every other run was an FC of the whole drum solo lmao. I still choked past the drum solo a few tines, but thanks to my solo consistency, this only took like six runs total to take down. I'm super relieved, all things considered. This could've been a much worse grind.
2nd Ever RB2 FC after HomelessCarl. This gives me an FC of the Big 4 Jimi songs in RB2 (being this, 3rd Stone, Hey Joe, and Stone Free). I got Stone Free on video eight years ago, but I never got Hey Joe on video. I guess I'll look at reFCing that sometime soon!
FBFC (RB3): youtu.be/J6NyPyzu_Uo
FBFC (RB4): youtu.be/LqpKOAVH-XQ
Like the Pantera pack, this has some broken notes on drums. On my sightread I got a -18, but if you only consider broken notes as invisible notes, and not barely-visible flams, it's closer to 14-15. They're mostly in the two tom sections at 1:22 and 3:10. There's also two barely visible flams at 1:35 and 1:40 that are easy to miss. If you include barely visible flams as broken notes, you have about 20 broken notes! What a meme.
One thing you'll notice is that the song audio is super quiet. I'm not sure what happened, but it's really off lol.
Broken Notes Guide:
Chorus 1 (4:40) - Play each tom note at 5:06 as a flam, 7 in total.
Bridge (5:13) - Every tom at 5:35 except for two notes needs to be played as a flam. Play 7 hits as a flam, 1 solo note, another flam, another solo note, and the rest as flams. 11 in total.

Bridge A: 4:17
This is the first FC of this ever done on Rock Band 2. This chart holds a lot of history for me specifically. I got the 2nd Ever FC of it in 2014 after like a week straight of grinding. It's still a super daunting FC to attempt on RB2/RB3 (RB4 not so much lol). The biggest problem section is Bridge A because of the note spacing, though for whatever reason I'm much better at it in RB2 compared to RB3. I got the whole song FC'd on my third time up to Bridge A. Compared to my over 30 runs lost to Bridge A for my first FC, I'll gladly take this!
This gives me the Mayhem Pack FC on RB2, though I still have yet to upload Embedded or WAHNTHAC FCs from this game. Soon enough :)
I also beat Vd0g's score on this by 300 points! I guess uncovering the second roll is the optimal play, even in RB2.
This one took a while to get on RB2 for some reason. I just kept choking the second blast every time, mostly at the weird transition in the middle. Luckily I didn't choke the outro :) also rip the path lmao i screwed it up so much
Drum Solo 1: 3:25
Drum Solo 2: 4:25
Check out Speedy's video here: youtu.be/K4gfluvyrvM
What a grind this was. I choked the final 5 seconds TWICE within a couple of hours by hitting my stick. That combined with my inconsistency on the two rolls at 1:31 and 1:39 for no reason made this super discouraging to attempt. After a calibration change, I started to feel more confident, but then I choked the one yellow tom roll at 3:13 twice LOL. I just couldn't catch a break. But after a bit more time, I finally got it. This song is dead.
I guess I'll look at finishing the Mayhem Pack on RB2 soon! I already did Embedded. I did What a Horrible Night in RB1, so it should be no problem to redo here. I only need to worry about Conquer All. I'll make sure that's done non-bootleg too :)
I'd like to redo the other Top 100 songs missing a Pro Drums FC video. I think it's just Gypsy Rave Massacre Party 2, Magnolia, and The Way it Ends that need one, aside from RBN1 songs with all-cymbals charts like Unfurling a Darkened Gospel.
BIIIIG roll: 5:22
This took way too long. I forgot how annoyingly picky this drum chart is. Tempo jank + overdrumming + it goes out of sync near the end. Just not a great time overall lmao

FBFC: youtu.be/vkot-Zt3_hE
i also beat isaac's old RB2 score on this by 300 points. cut it WAY too close thanks to that outro mishap gg
lol camera cuts at 3:47
This is one of my favorite metal songs from the RBN. It grew on me so much over the years.

NO ____ MIRAAAAAGE
Whew boy. I worked on this on and off over the past couple of weeks. Mostly off. But I felt comfortable on this calibration and felt consistent enough at the blast at 1:59 to give it some more attempts. It only took two runs to the blast this session! This is also the first time I've ever FC'd this song without using a fill to skip the double-kick transition at the end of that blast. Non-bootlegged ftw!
2nd Ever FC of this in RB2 after @mikebt .

Keep in mind this song was NOT advertised as a 2x Bass Pedal version LOL. What a mess. If you're not familiar with this chart, give the whole thing a watch, including the FBFC linked below. It's amazingly bad.
Also lol 0:47 excellent fill placement. You don't even have to play the crash after the fill ends, just the kick to keep combo.
FBFC: youtu.be/wwSItlPkCWk
First FC (and probably GS) of this in RB2! I got a few more videos in stock that are the first FCs in this game, so stay tuned. I'll upload them next week :)

So I figured with all my experience FCing this in RB3, it has to be free in RB2, right? ...Haha. Nope. I choked the final section on drums starting at 5:11 FIVE TIMES before I got it here. I never missed the first spam section at 3:59, and I rarely missed the second spam section at 5:00. But I just could not catch a break at the very end of the song man lmao. What a meme.
This is also the first FC on this on RB2!
Splitscreen 'Pro' Drums FC (RB3): youtu.be/YC9VL8hxTzo
FBFC: youtu.be/T_H-6-ShbVE
I'll never get sick of hearing or playing this song. It's a classic. The chart is super wonky and unpolished across the board, but idk man. I feel that adds to the charm of this release. I feel old remembering that this chart is over 13 years old, goddamn.
I think this is the first FC of this in RB2? Hard to say.
Huge blast section starts at 3:35. Somehow I didn't choke past it this time around. I'll take it!

Unexportable FBFCs in Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock hype! This is a nice little one and done we got from our recent sesh. The roll of death at 2:55 isn't nearly as awful to hit in this engine, surprisingly.
I might work on other Top 100 RBN1 songs in RB2. It's pretty sweet getting this on its original engine.
1/20 FCs from this pack. It took a while to hit the bridge at 2:07. Thankfully I didn't choke the outro.
1/5 of the cut GH5 Wii songs! This is probably the only one I'll upload. The rest aren't that difficult.
I nearly FC'd this on SR, but I dropped my stick past the hardest part of the outro. It took me another 7 tries to hit it in a run gg
Fr though, this is madddd annoying to play. It's probably the hardest Toby Fox drum chart besides Ghost Fight/Dummy. You gotta love breakcore!
Fub soon??
For the past 14 years, you could only play 7-Lane drums in this game using the official RR drumkit, or a very select number of songs using an e-kit with the MPA. That's because the MPA couldn't map any purple (ride) cymbals for some reason. Until now! At my request, the Roll Limitless adapter now has a firmware for RR 7-Lane drums. Lord help us. (ty bookreader c:)
I'm probably gonna work on this game on 7-Lane. It's surprisingly fun once you get the hang of reading everything.
Also, I just noticed this chart doesn't have any purple ride notes lmao.
Wow so this one surprised me. I practiced the ending ahead of time, but aside from that this was my first full run through. I completely forgot about the bit at 2:41. No idea how I didn't miss there, or choke the ending at all.
Classic chart. It's still pretty tough to keep up with. The best tip is switching to leading the main beat on your left hand if you get tired.

This was the last RB1 song without an FBFC on the original game. Very glad we got this finished. :)

The fill at 0:40 is really hard with proper Pro charting lmao.
I got this on my first try ever playing this game, right after booting it up and calibrating. Very tricky to pull off in this engine :)
I'm working on finishing the Full Series FC on Drums completely On-Disc. I just need to clean up RB1, RB2, Lego, and AC/DC. I also might look at the track packs because I have them all (except Volume 1 which never released on 360).
Don't expect an FC. This genuinely sucks to play in this game lmfao. I have very little motivation for it.

Oh man. The big boy FC. This one honestly shocked me. This is the first FC I did out of the whole pack around three weeks ago, and it only took me about 45 minutes. I did my first run, practiced the intro a bit, practiced the outro a bit, and then did some more runs. I somehow got this on my first run to the Guitar Solo, so I had ZERO outro chokes. I legit hyperventilated for about twenty minutes when I got this FC. It was so goddamn unexpected.
I also did this FC at a time when the cymbal sustains in the ending were broken. The kick note had a very big chance of dropping when it's at the start of a sustain and I was completely unaware of why this happened. Addy figured out that it's because in official charts with sustains+kick notes, the notes played on the hands are defined first before the bass pedal (and in-game they count as two notes on the counter). The initial conversion of these charts had the bass pedal defined first. The way to avoid missing when it's broken is to always play the kick note first, and THEN play the sustain since you don't need to hit it immediately. But at the time I FC'd this, I didn't do anything different. To not choke the HfT sustains under this circumstance is, quite frankly, a miracle.
This chart is nearly identical to the GH:VH X+ chart. Two notes are changed - one in the intro, and one in one of the BBBGGGG rolls in the pre-chorus. As well as an added bass pedal sustain in the outro. So there's not much to see that's new here. I will say that this song SUCKS to play in GH:WoR though lol. The intro is just cruel, and the tom roll of death at the end is even more inconsistent in my experience. So again. HOW DID I NOT CHOKE IT???
For those who don't know, I FC'd the GH:VH chart on X/X+ on both 4/5 lane! I made a chart comparison video a while ago, you can watch it here: youtu.be/K2oSKtwDoi4
Special thanks again to Addy for sending me these charts early to playtest! I also playtested the Hendrix Pack and Wii Bird and got those FC'd, so I'll look at getting those uploaded in the future.
Would you believe me if I said I didn't choke the outro fill or drum solo this session?
GH:VH X+ FGFC, at long last. 2nd Ever FGFC after Joel. It's disappointing I couldn't do this on 5-lane since my WoR brain broke, but I'll take the FC in general at this point. 3rd Ever FC of this I think? Plus this is the first FC ever done on 4-lane X+, so that's pretty neat.
Three songs left for X+ FSFC:
-Fury of the Storm
-Through the Fire and Flames
-War Ensemble
One DLC song left:
-Twilight of the Thunder God
I will FC this. I've never been more motivated for a GH FC.

Yes yes the upload is late I didn't schedule the videos like a doodoo head sry
So this one is interesting. This drum chart was not playable on GH:WT's disc, but it still existed on the disc. This outro is stupid hard, especially the inbetween note at 3:10.
This is the only chart that received a major revision because the original version had an unFCable outro. Especially when kicks were added for X+. Just take my word for it, it was not worth releasing like that. Maybe I'll post a clip of it if you're all really curious.
Expert+ FC 6/10

I don't have too much to say about this one. My first reaction seeing this had an X+ upgrade was "...why does this have an X+ upgrade" lmao. But then I saw the start of the solo. It's HfT-lite!

Hopefully this video will stay up. With the help of Nick and Zero (and AI), I got the drums mix isolated for each song. It's not perfect, but it's workable. There are two issues with this video in particular that I'll point out quick:
-From 3:32 to 3:54, I removed the drums audio. The bridge remained unchanged and I guarantee that will get picked up for copyright. So I'm playing it safe. I also cut the drums audio off in certain spots before a break in the song, just in case.
-At 6:42, my capture card skipped. This isn't a splice I promise :)
Tomorrow, I will upload another set of three songs. Stay tuned!
