Now we have the final stage of Ch. 5 and the real conclusion to the game's Story Mode. Zhuge Liang wants to give the ultimate test to you, the player, by having you face-off against all 4 strategists. Wang Yuanji and Jiang Wei say this isn't fair to you, so they take your side in it.
To start, Jia Xu and Zhou Yu are blocking the paths forward, so you have to advance to them. But as you do, Cao Pi and Lu Xun will spawn behind you to ambush the main camp, so you'll have to send someone back to stop them. After that, Sima Yi will have lightning rain down on you, so you'll have to defeat him and his children to stop it. Then when you go to fight Zhuge Liang in the center and beat him, the 4 strategists will respawn after massive damage is dealt to all the bases, dropping them to 1 HP for enemy officers to easily take over. At that point, Jiang Wei and Wang Yuanji start to lose heart, but then your protagonist speaks properly for the first time to encourage them.

"Do you enjoy the sting of defeat? If you don't, then show me what you can do."
After that, the music changes to Unparalleled Strategist, which is an awesome track that only plays for this one moment. Then your allies and your bases start to recover and you can go after all the respawned strategists to defeat them and win the stage, prompting one final line from your CAW.

"That battle was thrilling. The feeling it gave me... I never want to forget it."
I don't know if the dialogue is different depending on your CAWs voice setting, but it's really cool either way. Reminds me of when God Eater 1 did something similar.
After that, the 4 strategists congratulate you and the debate comes to an end, with Zhuge Liang saying you exceeded his expectations, that you were just the kind of officer they had been waiting for, someone that could inherit their legacy. The ending narration talks about how you became a beacon of hope for the strategists and grew into a brilliant hero in your own right.
So I'm choosing to take that as the strategists having all died and wanting someone that could truly take in their knowledge, experiences, and beliefs to go on into the real world. Whether that real world is some battlefield in ancient China for your CAW or you sitting at home I guess is up to you. Because of the emulator bumping up the frames for the movies for no discernable reasons, the ending scene and credits end about twice as fast as they should, but the audio still plays at normal speed, so it just kind of stops mid-way. Sorry about that, but there's not much I can do about it.
After the credits, your CAW wakes up the next morning wanting to talk more, so Zhuge Liang ponders what battle to discuss next. Then Zhang Jiao suddenly shows up saying to listen to the voice of the heavens, as he wants to join the talks. Jia Xu chimes in going "Where have YOU been this whole time?" but is completely ignored. And that starts the next and final chapter of Story Mode, Ch. 6, where we play a bunch of Others battles.
