The concept of dynamic pricing is getting more scrutiny as concert-goers discover that seeing their favourite acts is increasingly outside their reach. Neil Young, The Cure, Coldplay, Harry Styles and others have expressed concern.

Large parts of the travel industry have been subject to dynamic pricing for a long time and it's more evident than ever.
Why is dynamic pricing so ubiquitous in travel?
Is this efficient markets at work? Capitalism at its best?
Or is it unethical, destructive of consumer trust and a signal of asymmetrical markets and excessive concentrations of digital surveillance?
If it's so good, should dynamic pricing be expanded to the workforce?
Should nurses and doctors be able to switch to surge pricing in a terrorist attack or pandemic? Soldiers in a war? Police in crimewave?
